It's empty in here, let's fill this place with some nice screenshots! I'll start with my park.

Those are some excellent ideas, I'll keep following the progress to see how it turns out

I'm having a blast with this update! Very nice work

I have the same bug with settlers disappearing. It does not happen for me if I first move (M) the settlers into the region I want to settle, and then settle (S).

A 'build multiple roads' option. You could indicate the starting point and the ending point and the game automatically tries to build a road using the fastest route, as long as it is possible to do so.

Also, maybe it should be possible to build roads over mountains at a high cost (either duration or resources or both). I see bridges are already planned.

Sounds exciting!

One suggestion that is probably just my personal opinion: in games like civilization I don't like that there is often too much focus on war. I like it if there is the option to either play agressively or defensively, focusing more on things like culture, economy and technology in the latter case.  In many games you have both options, but the first one is usually a much better option, which I don't like.

Yeah waypoints like in rts games like Age of Empires would be really handy. Shift-click to set a waypoint!

Very nice update and preview. I did not realize there were region borders so that was confusing indeed

I agree with these points

Okay, found a better fix than using Twonky's mod. This is for people who live in regions where commas are used for decimal place. Instructions are for Windows 7 but probably apply to different Windows.

Go to Control Panel -> Region and Language.

Change the Format to some type of English, or else it probably also works if you go to Additional Settings and change the Decimal symbol to "."

Here we use commas for decimal places, but that's only an issue with some microsoft software

Hey thanks for the fix Twonky, I can at least see something now.

Still lots of bugs though, will take some time to get through all of them I think

So Twonky made a temporary fix for those of us eager to try stuff out! Check the comments here: https://commodoreshawn.itch.io/bronze-age/devlog/14251/20-new-era-update

Yeah same for me

I use a laptop with Intel HD graphics 520 btw, 2.80 GHz Intel i7 processor,  8 Gb RAM, with Windows 7 64-bit

2.0 bug report time!

Everything is black when I preview or generate a map, it only shows the name of the region, can't play yet :(

Yes, finally! Will try it out asap when I have time to play

Okay now I finished the tutorial, but when I started the campaign I did my first turn, the enemy did nothing on his turn, and the timer is now stuck at 1.
Do you have a different place to report bugs?
Game looks very nice and interesting btw

Yes please! That sounds awesome

When the tutorial says "Click to select a passive skill " I don't know what to do

Really like the combat stances update!

I think you made a good decision with the gatehouses, why would you want it open to enemies or closed to allies anyway

Haha no problem, I didn't have time anyway these past weeks. And with the new version I'll probably be busy playing it first, looking forward to it!

Yeah I'm waiting for the developments of 2.0 now, I'll have to redo some stuff but it won't be too much trouble I think

Looks good, can't wait to try it out!

Very nice, I'm a big fan of moddable (spelling?) games

I actually didn't check this site in a week or so and decided to look (didn't get a notification or something), then I saw that you put a new comment here 5 minutes earlier XD

These are busy weeks for me but  in October I have a bit more time. So hopefully by the end of October.

Pasture, Bakery, Walls, and north facing Tower finished. Walls and towers are more West-African style than Mesopotamian, but they seem to fit both a forest and a desert environment.

Will upload the new files when the towers are completely finished.

Thanks Shawn!

So, it took me a whole evening but the farms are much better now. Added some irrigation canals (don't think there were plans to add those as a game feature?)

Thanks all.

Yeah I also don't like the transparent fields the way they are now so I will redo the farms at some point.

(1 edit)

Hi all, here's my work in progress mod:

the idea is to edit the original artwork, keep a sort of Mesopotamian style, and add details to the artwork. Current progress:

  • Finished: Terrain, Road, Resources and trees, House, Lumberyard, Storage
  • Finished but needs polish/rework: Brickworks (polish), Farm (rework)
  • To do: Units, Pigs, Effects, Carts, Bakery, Mine, Maskling tent, Military buildings, Pasture, Pig breeder, UI

Files are available here:

I'll make a proper mod file when everything is finished, but for now you could use just the terrain+trees as a separate mod for example.

Hey guys, I made a let's play series for this game:

Leave a comment here or on youtube if you have ideas on how I can improve my gameplay or videos.

Looks great man! You still workingon this?

Will a save-game from version 1.4 work on this version?
